Missouri Arts Council Supporting Current Expressions

We’re thrilled to share that the Missouri Arts Council has awarded Project Lab St. Louis $1605 to support Current Expressions, a literary magazine currently in production by and for Missouri teens. An amazing editorial staff comes together from four different schools across the region. They’ve been meeting on Saturdays at the Ed Collabitat, a state-of-the-art workspace generously opened to us by the the College of Education at the University of Missouri St. Louis. In close collaboration with Gateway Writing Project and Onecity Stories, we’ve received poems, essays, photographs, and art from young writers and artists who responded to our call for submissions last fall. Editors have reviewed submissions, organized the content into themes, and are now working closely with contributors on final revisions. Layout begins next month. Magazines will be in hand in May!
